The Pagan Socialist Democratic Caucus affirms the inherent dignity, equality, and worth of every person, regardless of sexual orientation, romantic orientation, or whom they love.

We believe that every individual deserves to live with dignity, freedom, and respect, without fear of discrimination, harassment, exclusion, or unequal treatment because of their sexual or romantic orientation. Personal identity and the capacity to love do not diminish a person's humanity, civic standing, or right to participate fully in society.

The Pagan Socialist Democratic Caucus recognizes and respects the diversity of human experience, including the many ways individuals understand, experience, and express attraction, affection, and relationships. We affirm the equal worth of people who identify as heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, queer, or any other sexual or romantic orientation, as well as those who are still exploring their identity or choose not to adopt a specific label.

No person should be treated as inferior, denied equal rights, or excluded from public life because of whom they love or to whom they are attracted.

We reject discrimination, harassment, and prejudice directed at individuals because of their sexual or romantic orientation. We oppose efforts to deny individuals equal protection under the law, access to public services, educational opportunities, employment opportunities, or meaningful participation in civic life on this basis. We support policies and practices that uphold fairness, personal liberty, and equal treatment for all.

We also recognize that respect for individual freedom includes the right to personal privacy, self-determination, and freedom of conscience. No individual should be compelled to disclose their orientation, justify their personal relationships, or conform to another person's expectations in order to receive dignity and respect. Differences in personal beliefs must not be used to justify mistreatment, intimidation, or the denial of another person's basic humanity.

As a caucus grounded in the Pagan community and committed to democratic participation, we recognize that our community includes people of diverse orientations, relationships, traditions, and lived experiences. We believe that diversity does not weaken our shared commitment to democracy; rather, it reminds us of the importance of protecting individual liberty and ensuring that every person's voice can be heard.

Our commitment begins within our own organization. The Pagan Socialist Democratic Caucus welcomes individuals of every sexual and romantic orientation who share our commitment to democratic values, religious freedom, equality, and inclusive public service. We seek to maintain an environment where members can participate openly or privately according to their own wishes, free from discrimination and unnecessary scrutiny of their personal lives.

We affirm that love, dignity, and equal citizenship are not privileges reserved for one orientation. Every person deserves the freedom to live honestly, build meaningful relationships, and participate in society without being diminished or disadvantaged because of whom they love.

The Pagan Socialist Democratic Caucus stands for a democracy that protects individual freedom, respects human diversity, and recognizes the equal dignity of all people. We will continue to advocate for a society in which no one must sacrifice their safety, dignity, or equal rights to be accepted as a member of the human family.

Faith. Freedom. Democracy.

Adopted as the official position of the Pagan Socialist Democratic Caucus on sexual orientation, equality, and inclusion.
