We are a new and growing organization. Please bear with us as we are expanding the information being presented by the caucus.

We are not currently officially affiliated with the Democratic Party or the Democratic Socialists of America, though members may be.

Once we grow a bit more, we will discern that step.

Socialism: A True Society with Dignity

Over the last many decades, the government of the United States of America has demonized the term socialist to the point that many (if not most) individuals tend to recoil when they hear the word, along with many other terms that relate to identity and persuasion. For too long, socialism has been portrayed as something to fear—a threat to freedom, prosperity, and the American way of life. But what if we looked beyond the political rhetoric and considered what democratic socialism actually seeks to accomplish?

At its heart, democratic socialism is about putting people before profit and ensuring that everyone has a fair opportunity to live a safe, healthy, and dignified life.

We believe healthcare should be accessible to everyone, regardless of income. No one should have to choose between paying their bills and receiving medical treatment. We believe everyone deserves safe, affordable housing, and that no family should be left homeless simply because they cannot keep up with rising costs. We believe access to nutritious food is a basic human necessity, not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it.

These principles are not radical acts of charity. They are investments in the well-being of our communities. A society is stronger when its people are healthy, housed, fed, and empowered to participate fully in civic life.

Democratic socialism does not mean abandoning individual freedom, ambition, or entrepreneurship. It means recognizing that freedom is difficult to exercise when poverty, illness, and economic insecurity control our choices. Through democratic participation, responsible public policy, workers' rights, and shared investment in essential services, we can build an economy that works for ordinary people—not just the wealthy and powerful.

As Pagans, many of us draw inspiration from interdependence, reciprocity, stewardship, and care for our communities. Though Pagan traditions are diverse, these values remind us that our well-being is connected to the well-being of others.

The Pagan Socialist Democratic Caucus believes that compassion should be reflected in our laws, that democracy should serve all people, and that prosperity should be measured by more than accumulated wealth.

No one should have to earn the right to survive. Healthcare, housing, food, dignity, and a meaningful voice in our democracy should be within everyone's reach.

We invite Pagans and allies alike to look beyond political stereotypes, explore democratic socialist principles, and join us in working toward a more just, equitable, and compassionate future.
